Mixologists are the new Chefs

We all know that Cleveland's foodscene is vibrant, modern and now peppered with Celebrities. I love Food! I love it, but I love Mixology more. And the two together? Amazing. I love jams and marmalade with my toast in the morning, ever tried it in a martini glass? It's even better.

It seems like everytime I step foot in a "martini/wine bar" the cocktail menu is stale. It just lists drinks that were new to drinkers back when Sex and the City first came out! Example: Chocolate Martinis and Top-Shelf Cosmopolitans. While those are yummy sometimes, they're soooo lame! It's time to step up our game to match our culinary gurus.

I know there are talented mixologists/bartenders in the city. I know how to spot one of my own. The VTR is one of my favorite places, for goodness' sake. It's time to ban together and take a stand against the weak drink menus of the past and present. I have a lot of fresh ideas that I can't wait to bounce off of my fellow barkeeps in a hope to upgrade our city's culture and nightlife. Let the blogging begin...
